College Scholarship

Applicant must be a child or grandchild of a dues-paying member of the Washington State Chapter of the United Postmasters and Managers of America.

Applicant must be either a graduating high school senior or an undergraduate student of an accredited college.

All applications must be postmarked no later than April 30, 2021.

Winners will be notified in June 2021 and announced in the Cascade Connection. By signing the application the applicant gives UPMA WA Chapter permission to announce the award to news media and the public at large.

Type or print clearly.

Please attach reference letters of recommendation to the application.

Include with application: Academic transcripts. These must be officially SEALED transcripts provided by the last school applicant attended. List all scholastic and extracurricular awards received and offices held. (Materials sent will not be returned.) Send photocopies, not originals.

Essay: Please note that only a designated educator will review the application. All information will be held in strict confidence.

Scholarship recipients may not reapply to receive a future UPMA Scholarship.

Scholarship money awarded will be paid directly to the college when the recipient enrolls and UPMA has received notice from the college registrar to that fact.

The Scholarship must be used in the same academic year in which it is awarded. If this is not possible, the UPMA Scholarship Committee must be notified.

One alternate person will be chosen to receive the Scholarship Award should those selected be unable to use the money awarded for the purpose intended.
